It was a disappointing outing for our Fairfield-Liverpool 1st, who had to give best to Western Suburbs 1st on a day to learn from.
Our totals were 6/346, against Western Suburbs 1st's 5/408. A century to Dhanvi Vemulapalli, who made 126 off 249 balls with five fours. Brent Williams brought up a superb century, finishing with 118 off 123 balls. Coby Holland made 49 off 107 balls. Credit to Joshua Clarke, who claimed a five-wicket haul (five for 67) for our opponents.
Luke Hodges starred with the ball, taking three for 91. The visitors' Ethan Jamieson made a polished 160. Clarke posted a great hundred for our opponents, finishing on 159.
There were some quality individual efforts to build on. That has us 11th on the ladder.
The side will be eager to put this one behind them against Manly Warringah 1st next Saturday.
