It wasn't to be for our Fairfield-Liverpool 1st, who were denied by Blacktown 1st in NSW Premier Cricket (Men's).
Blacktown 1st made 353, and we made 238. Brent Williams made an excellent 82 off 112 balls, a well-made fifty. Luke Ohrynowsky posted a half-century, making 65 off 100 balls with nine fours. Smit Raval did the damage for our opponents with three for 88.
With the ball, Yuva Nishchay did the damage, claiming three for 68 off 14.2 overs. Gaurav Dogra passed fifty for the hosts, finishing with 80.
We'll take the lessons from this one and go again. It's two defeats on the trot, and the group will be eager to bounce back.
Plenty to work on, and plenty to like.
